Friends from the start
you and I
what brought us together?
that very first day
Your laughter, your smile
Your willingness to share your feelings
The way you were so willing to listen
a true friend you've always been
A shoulder to cry on
lending support
It doesn't matter now
what brought us together
that very first day
All I care about is that you are my
Friend for Life!!
knowing when I need to talk
even though I'm silent
knowing when I need a hug
even though I keep my distance
knowing when I need you
even though I don't call
I want to thank you for the times you knew
I needed to talk and you were here
for me no matter what time of day or night.
For the times you sensed I needed a hug...
for the times when I was silent
and you just knew I needed you in some way.
So many times you've been a shoulder to lean on...

Friendship is a magic thing,
It's like the little birds that sing;
Like floating butterflies on wing,
And the joy you feel when church bells ring.
It gives you many wondrous things,
Like sunshine and the warmth it brings;
Like fireflies with their special zing,
And shimmering moonbeams fit for kings.
Friendship is often,
Compared to a quilt;
Each friendship’s unique,
In how it’s been built.
From New York to Alaska,
Tennessee to Nebraska,
Colorado to Florida’s shore.
Each friend adds new memories,
to piece in the quilt;
Hope, Love , Promise,
And a whole lot more.
Each friend is a quilt block,
Sent from above;
Pieced together thru life,
And stitched with God’s Love.
