Some say we are obsessed with love because it is the closest thing to magic that we have, but then again sometimes magic is just an illusion

.. as I can't force you to love me, I can't force myself to stop loving you ..

..you Broke my heart ..but I Love you with Every piece of it ..

tHIS IS NOT TRUE!
Magic is the closest thing to reality one can ever get.
There is nothing more real than magic.
Ask specialists in theoretical physic.

Its all magic, we just cant cope with it, so we make it logical, and in boxes, all in plastic who has nothing at all to do with the reality of it, so we can believe it function through laws we have made and can control
When the truth is that its controled by the unpredictable , like quanta jumps, and the unexplainable, like Quantum theory.

We have a big influence on it, we are just not much aware of it. We have a huge influence on events through ou thoughts and will and wishes and handlings, and dreams, as all is made of the same stuff and obey to the same quantums laws, we are just not teached in it, nor to believe in it know about it, nor to use it and how to use it.
Thats the next step to come in human evolution: how to influence our past and present and furture through active use of the quantic laws.
I do that often.
A pearl exemple of quantum jump, here in this forum, will be Mel.
He can be 2 places at the same time, and he can jump without making any trace in between, from a point to another, without any logical explainable cause nor motives nor reason, and do that again and again, and no matter how many times you repeast the experiment, you can never know when nor where the next jump will occur, which is the essence of the quanta mechanic, and make it a true specimen of studium for me, who interest me very much, as i am fond and completely dedicated to theoretical physic.
Thats my interest number one.
So basically, i ma observing quanta jump in your forum, and trying to deduce how it works, and how to influence it, which isnt a thin affair, specially when using the logical army of my mind, which mean i can only get to it when i am mad.
So to come back to magic, i know all about it, since i use it constantly to make miracles happen. Like not being banned yet, and the alike..

Love is not only close to magic, it is magic, it is the essence of magic itself.
You cant be a magus without being in love.
Thats how it works.
Any miracle contain its share of love.
Of course therre is some ritual to be done, but basicaly its nothing else but love, hope and faith, and a good dosis of will, insanity, and wildness, with a spoon of humor and a straw of box thinking, just in case.

Its basicaly like the telephone. You knwo how to do it, and you know it is working, but you will be damn lost if you had to explain why.

Sometimes you can do some "over-magic" thats when you are in the midst of the act but you are not aware of it.
You are doing an ´grandiose art of magic, but you dont know it so absorb oyu are in the process. And oyu migth even get irritated by small details and adjustements in it.
Only long after, you will think back, and see it and think "WAW! this was really magical!"

So i will say that all we live in in this world is a grand illusion we have build to protect us from the real world, and its crazy quanta, who dont func as they should in classical physical laws and do what the heck they want to do and make no sens at all but in the grand sheme of things that none of us know about cause we werent invited to the introduction and initiation party, when the whole thing begin, so that we can keep ourself reassured that 2 + 2 its 4 or 5 or whatever you like to put it, and that our tooth brosh is at the same place in the morning as where we left it the night before, and that the milk didnt run from the fridge to go for a walk in the forest, and got replaced with the ashtre, and that all hang together the way we like them to.
But we dont like them the way we made them hang together all the way.
Soemthing is missing.
Quanta is mising
the whole thing is missing
the magic is missing
and thats when we fall in love, to come back to our sources, to reconnect with our true reality and rediscover where we all come from and go to, and enjoy again the world where logic has no anker, cant get a grip in it, as this world is much biger and widder than logic itself, and that the ramme of logic could ever extand to.
The words of logic cant describe it either. It demand more.
And therefor only poem can come close to the concept of love, as poem use intuition and inspiration and not logic.
It uses the inner imagery.
Any one who doesnt believe me, ask Alice in Wonderland.

Alice in Wonderland is just fictional...am i right?

Love can be considered as "magic" coz we just felt it, we can't reason to it if that feeling hit us. Thus magic can also be an "illusion" coz we don't have the right to question it & manipulate it. If it's for you, it's for you, If not, we just sit & imagine it was "us" that love chooses to.

About your example, i consider it as "identity crisis" or maybe "split personality syndrome".

Who do you turn to when the only person
in the world that can stop you from crying,
is exactly the one making you cry?

God and Jesus is love. I wouldn't call them an illusion (I know some do), and if I get that obsessed over anyone, it would be these two. I never get that stuck on anyone, really. People come and go and can hurt you BIG TIME, but you can always trust in God and Jesus to get you through bad times. Let them into your heart and they will never leave you.

This is how I see things, anyway.

I dont see anyone understanding we were talking about magic, and i cant see anyhting in the answers given who relate to what i talk about..
real magic..
magic is something you create if you are able to relate to it deep enough and sincerely enough.
If you can relate to God and Jesus, then you can relate to magic and know it isnt an illusion, nor something you cannot influence.
It is something you have to ask for as well.

The magic I know & have seen is nothing more than illusions for entertainment purposes. Like magicians doing shows, it's all about illusions trying to get people to think what they are doing is actually happening.

This is my opinion & it how I perceive magic. To me magic is an illusion, just like someone who is obsessed w/another. True love isn't an obession because to me obsession or to be obsessed isn't real just as magic isn't real.

Here are the definitions of obsession & magic:

ob·ses·sion /əbˈsɛʃən/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[uhb-sesh-uhn] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

2. the idea, image, desire, feeling, etc., itself.
3. the state of being obsessed.
4. the act of obsessing.

mag·ic /ˈmædʒɪk/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[maj-ik] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun 1. the art of producing illusions as entertainment by the use of sleight of hand, deceptive devices, etc.; legerdemain; conjuring: to pull a rabbit out of a hat by magic.
2. the art of producing a desired effect or result through the use of incantation or various other techniques that presumably assure human control of supernatural agencies or the forces of nature. Compare contagious magic, imitative magic, sympathetic magic.
3. the use of this art: Magic, it was believed, could drive illness from the body.
4. the effects produced: the magic of recovery.
5. power or influence exerted through this art: a wizard of great magic.
6. any extraordinary or mystical influence, charm, power, etc.: the magic in a great name; the magic of music; the magic of spring.

10. of, pertaining to, or due to magic.
11. producing the effects of magic; magical: a magic touch.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Origin: 1350–1400; ME magik(e) witchcraft < LL magica, L magicé < Gk magik, n. use of fem. of magikós. See magus, -ic]

—Synonyms 2. enchantment. Magic, necromancy, sorcery, witchcraft imply producing results through mysterious influences or unexplained powers. Magic may have glamorous and attractive connotations; the other terms suggest the harmful and sinister. Magic is an art employing some occult force of nature: A hundred years ago television would have seemed to be magic. Necromancy is an art of prediction based on alleged communication with the dead (it is called “the black art,” because Greek nekrós, dead, was confused with Latin niger, black): Necromancy led to violating graves. Sorcery, originally divination by casting lots, came to mean supernatural knowledge gained through the aid of evil spirits, and often used for evil ends: spells and charms used in sorcery. Witchcraft esp. suggests a malign kind of magic, often used against innocent victims: Those accused of witchcraft were executed

Look, this sint the oxford dictionary dpt, and i never talk about magic as you go to the circus, but of real magical stuff like the one occuring in theoretical physic following the laws of Quantum Mecahnics.

If you knwo nothing of what Quantum mechanics is, you might have difficulties at understanding what this is all about.
But it is definitly not in the Longmann you will found it..

We have the scientifical prove that it is possible to affect all object and living and that we all affect one another.
It is thus possible to travel in time and to change events who happeend there and to form our future.
I have made a long studie of it and know what i am talking about, will not go in the technical parts, but thats what you get of it, when translated in normal language.
Magic is what can be as versus to usual.
Usual being the rational world, governed by the law of classicval physic and logic.
But behind those laws and governing them, are the laws of modern physic, who cover much mure than the classicval laws do, and ecplain much more that the classical laws cant explain.
Most of the things occuring in the universe cannot be explain with classical physic and logic. Only with quantum mechanic and streng theories.
The same is for everything in our world.
It appears liek logical, what governs it is not.
Healing process are part of it or fox getting killed or war begining and stoping..
healing is connecting with those forces who rule all in our world, that type of laws, and being able to make them work for you.
If you can connect, you can use it, and have them work for you.

Maybe you idea of what magic is, is completely out of rythm with what magic covers.
The day we will all be able to use it, it wont be magic in the sense you give to it anymore, but more as we call a mobile phone for a mobile phone and a fax for a fax..
Thats all there is to it.

I did some checking online into your thinking that Quantum Theory is about time travel. What I had read doesn't say anything about being able to time travel. It discussed being able to move lights, particles, atoms, protons etc., which has to do w/Science.

I can give you the link to where I found the information, but it doesn't pertain to the quote or to the forum. I used to watch a television show back in the mid 80's (I believe it was the mid 80's) called Quantum Leap & in that Fiction based show the main character believed that he could time travel & actually did, but the show was FICTION for our enjoyment, thus back to magic being an illusion for people's enjoyment.

I stand by what I said because the original quote & my definitions, plus what I have learned & seen is what pertains to the original quote.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions & this is my opinion.

Qhatum Mechanic is not about time travel at all.
It can imly one can be able to do so if we are able to understand how it works and to control it, but quantum mecanic is the all the laws that control the universe.
From gravitation to how it takes you to cook an egg.
And yes it is about magic and has all to do with magic.
I dont think anything you saw in tv in the 80'es vould have told you anything about quantum mechanics as the discoveries and proves in it only came by 1999 and 2004.
A sonde send in space came back last year in mars and with it contained all the informations thats scientist has been waiting for since always to get infirmation or confirmations of the theory.. and it was a big confirmation, with even more elements to it.
Saying that Quantum mechanic is about space travel will be like saying that classical physic is about cars..
It rooms much more that just that.

My view on magic is the one of a scientist, specialised in theoretical physic.
Thats about how the universe came about, and what occured before the Big Bang and what caused it to occur, and what origin the origin of the big bang has.

Some found magic in a rabbit, some dont.
I can also bend spoons, but what the heck am I going to do with all those bended spoones???!
So i dont chasse no rabbit and i dont bend no spoons, I make real magic instead and by understanding the doing and working of the world we are into, and its origins.

Then You believe in Quantum Mechanics.
Thats what it is about.. and explain as well what you experience in religion, and can prove it is true as well.

This is nt about religion versus science, but about science proving religion.
