Hey. Here is my latest quote. took half an hour to make the upside down "Love" look right, but it was well worth it to get the point of this quote across.
**NOTE** - I had to take a screenshot of it because the forums font makes the love look all weird.
Boston University women's tennis coach Lesley Sheehan must have had deja vu watching her team battle through another dramatic match against crosstown rival Boston College. With three straight 4-3 losses to BC in the last three years on their minds, the Terriers entered Wednesday's action on a two-match losing streak. But Sheehan can breathe easier, now that her team turned the tables on the freefalling Eagles, winning 4-3 at Harvard University.
"It feels great," Sheehan said. "Our matches with them are such a battle. We went into this match really psyched to go after them."
The Terriers (8-7) beat the Eagles (9-10) for the first time since 2002. BC lost its seventh straight match, a far cry from its seven-match winning streak earlier this season.
BC started off strong, taking the doubles point by winning first and third doubles. Juniors Lauren Cash and Dasha Cherkasov won first doubles, 8-3, over BU's top duo of sophomore Francine Whu and freshman Vanessa Steiner. The Terriers tied the match in second doubles, as juniors Cori Lefkowith and Danielle Abraham defeated junior Alina Sullivan and freshman Katharine Attwell, 8-5.
The final doubles match was a nail-biter. The Eagles' duo of junior Lana Krasnopolsky and senior Gia Nafarre needed a tie breaker to overcome junior Yana Sadovskaya and sophomore Elizabeth Corrao, 9-8. BC took the hard-fought doubles point.
"I could really feel the team's energy go down thinking, 'Wow, we lost that point,'" Sheehan said. "I tried to remind them between singles and doubles that in our last two matches, we won the doubles point and lost the singles. We lost both matches, 4-3."
